The Dziko Project

The Dziko Project is a non profit organization traveling through Africa working to improve animal welfare, specially in dogs
∼ the health, safety and psychological wellness of the animals ∼

This project born in Malawi in 2017 after seeing the terrible conditions and abuse where  dogs were surviving. We met Tiger, a dog which owner had a motorcycle accident and left to a bigger town abandoning the dog on the beach. We spent 2 months gaining his trust until we were able to rescue him. This is how The Dziko Project started.

Why Dziko? Dziko was the other Malawian dog, with Tiger, who stole our heart and made us understand what a wild and free African dogs is like. And, funny, Dziko also means “wild” in Chichewa, a Malawian language.

Our work:

♦ bringing our educational program to local schools with our dog Ginger

♦ take photos of shelter dogs and other media support to improve their adoption possibility and rise awareness in the zone

♦ feed, medicate and vaccine pets in need

♦ rescue dogs of neglect situations

♦ document every dog we meet and know his/her story

Aware of the impact of human footprint on the globe, wildlife species need, also, help to try to decrease their threats or improve their welfare.

♦ provide conservation programs to local schools

♦ welfare consultants for wildlife for sanctuaries

♦ media production of wildlife to rise awareness/improve welfare

We will be announcing soon great news for this next 2018! We can’t wait! coming soon!
